Alice in Chains’ 1990 debut album Facelift shows that right from the start, Alice in Chains were a force to be reckoned with. Though this album didn’t get as much recognition as some of Alice in Chains’ later work, it contains some of the band’s heaviest and best songs. The listener knows that they are in for something special as soon as the first track We Die Young starts to play. Layne’s gruff yet melodic voice goes perfectly with Jerry Cantrell’s riffs and the drum beats of Sean Kinney, making this song as memorable as it is powerful  . In conclusion, Alice in Chains’ Facelift is a strong debut album, and is a satisfying listening expirience for any metal or grunge fan. Score: 18/20.

When Alice in Chains' debut album, Facelift, was released in 1990, about a year before Nirvana's Nevermind, the thriving Seattle scene barely registered on the national musical radar outside of underground circles (although Soundgarden's major-label debut, Louder Than Love, was also released that year and brought them a Grammy nomination). That started to change when MTV jumped all over the video for "Man in the Box," giving the group a crucial boost and helping to pave the way for grunge's popular explosion toward the end of 1991.

User reviews
Picked this up today in Austin. It’s definitely a bit quiet, but sounds good once you turn it up. It doesn’t distort once it’s loud either. It was $20, so until they get off their ass and repress the original, this will do.
Ok here is my full review of this unofficial Facelift LP.I just received and listened to the black version.Jacket is on the flimsy side but I have seem thinner. Printing is actually pretty good and clear not pixelated but probably could look slightly better.Includes s nice lyric insert. The LP has nice labels and mine was very flat. Now for the audio. It sounds good. Wide soundstage and great bass. I had to turn the volume upMore than normal though. It sounds good but between tracks it was a bit noisy. I have reached the conclusion that this was probably pressed from a good copy of the original Brazilian press.Overall it is very good for a bootleg and price is right. On that note I will buy an official repress in a heartbeat if it ever comes out.I recommend if you don't want to blow a fortune on an original. This sounds good maybe really good with some drawbacks.
good to know, been wondering about these for a while. Now of course, the prices have skyrocketed! we need a damn legit repress!!!!
How does this sound? Also, if anyone has this for sale, send me a message.
I agree, very quite. Other than that, sounds decent. Got lucky and found this cheap.
sorry it has been sold a long time ago they are getting hard to find also
hello , im interested in case of , thanks , Got
Love Me
I have one if your still interested in this one
Sounds good. Some surface noise at times. Nice thick vinyl though. The cover is a blow up and pixilated but nice and glossy. The labels look great almost like an official copy. I recommend but don’t pay an insane price.
Agreed - crank the plain black version, and it's pretty happy. Add a little Bass, and some Treble, and you'll be stoked (at last) to have this on vinyl.
I have the white vinyl edition of this. Plays a little low, but is very clear and sounds great regardless.
