The Beatles' final album, which was actually recorded before 'Abbey Road' but released after, was mired in confusion. After the sprawling and tension-filled sessions for 'The White Album,' in which the four members basically became each other's backing bands, the Beatles secluded themselves in the studio, hoping to rekindle their passion for music and each other. It didn't work out that way. The album sat on the shelves for more than a year, until producer Phil Spector tried assembling a record from the aborted sessions

From Bing Crosby to Bob Dylan, Motown to Death Row, we rank the best Yuletide listens ever. Otis Redding does a slow, heart-weary "White Christmas" and a satisfied, Southern-fried "Merry Christmas Baby," while Carla Thomas spins her signature hit "Gee Whiz" into the fireplace-stoking forget-me-not "Gee Whiz, It's Christmas. Louis Armstrong and Friends, ‘The Best of Christmas Songs’. The best imaginable host for a Christmas get-together, Armstrong beams welcoming warmth and easygoing cheer on this recent compilation of his recordings with friends like Mel Torme, Dinah Washington, Duke Ellington and Lena Horne.

List of best songs ever recorded by The Beatles, the iconic British rock band joining John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Between the years 1960 and 1970, the band recorded 12 studio albums and a few other scattered songs and recordings, across a diverse range of styles. The albums have all proved massively influential, particularly the band's later experiments with psychedelia, world music and conceptual long-form albums. Each member of the so-called Fab Four found later success as a solo artist (with McCartney and Starr continuing to record albums and sell out.

The lists predominantly feature American and British music from the 1960s and the 1970s, topped by The Beatles’ 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, with a top 10 that featured four entries from The Beatles ( 3, 5 and 10), two from Bob Dylan ( and 9), and one each from The Beach Boys ( Marvin Gaye ( The Rolling Stones ( and The Clash (.

Absolutely the best Beatles album with Abbey road coming up for second. Great hits like 'A Day In The Life', and other great hits although I love every Beatles album nothing even comes close to Sgt. Peppers. George's best songs are on this album and the medley is the greatest work created by both Lennon and McCartney. This may not be as iconic as Peppers but it's a beautiful, magical, and rare piece of work. Unlike their other albums, this album lacks flaws.
