Mizik Filamonik - Spiritual Sound. Originally released in 1979, "Spiritual Sound" lives up to its name, a soaring, triumphant album, six tracks of spirit magic from Guadeloupe. A classic of modern Gwo ka music: massed hand drums and percussion, beautiful call-and-response vocals, and keyboards along with electric bass. The opening tune, with its insistent nyabinghi-esque percussion and questing flute will appeal to admirers of Pharoah Sanders and Light of Saba. Has the EM Records reissue been officially out? Anyone have their copy yet? Seems to be sold out in most places with the release date placed at december of last year. While at other like Redeye it's up for pre-order with release date set up on this month. Just asking to clarify if there is a delay or if some stores got their copies late.

Got word from the distributor in March that the reissue was cancelled. My guess is licensing issues. Hopefully someone else will try again at a later date!

Was very surprised and very pleased to see a reissue of this up for preorder on a few sites!EM Records is putting it out on December 15! Vinyl only I believe.
