Serious Moonlight is the title of a David Bowie concert video. Filmed in Vancouver on 12 September 1983, on the singer's "Serious Moonlight Tour", the video was released on VHS and laserdisc in 1984 and on DVD in 2006. The concert includes most of the songs from the concert although "Star", "Stay", "The Jean Genie", "Red Sails" and "Modern Love" were left off the 1984 release due to time constraints; the songs were not reinstated for the 2006 DVD release.

Serious Moonlight really introduced me to David Bowie when it aired on HBO, if i& not mistaken back in the 80&.I knew of him, but wasn& a fan until i saw Serious Moonlight. Ok hard core Bowie fans probably need to own this artifact from a very successful tour. And it's a shame there isn't more tour video between this Serious Moonlight show and the 1973 Hammersmith Odeon farewell to Ziggy (it's a crime that there isn't tour video from the Thin White Duke or Diamond Dogs tours). This video is visually compelling but the audio is really, really bad. The audio sounds like it was played it of an AM radio from across the street.

David Bowie Best of Serious Moonlight Tour. However, the success of Let's Dance caused unexpectedly high demand for tickets: there were 250,000 requests for 44,000 tickets at one show, for example, and as a result the tour was changed to instead play in a variety of larger outdoor and festival-style venues.

Parlophone Records are proud to announce David Bowie Loving The Alien (1983 – 1988), the fourth in a series of box sets spanning his career from 1969. Among the studio and live albums from the period, the set will also contain an exclusive new production of the 1987 album Never Let Me Down, by Bowie producer/engineer Mario McNulty with new instrumentation by Bowie collaborators Reeves Gabrels, David Torn, Sterling Campbell and Tim Lefebvre. Also in each box is the never before released ‘SERIOUS MOONLIGHT’ live album recorded in Vancouver, in 1983. Originally mixed at the time by Bob Clearmountain, the double album captures Bowie on what at that time was his most successful tour. The artwork features shots taken by photographer Denis O’Regan.

Album: Serious Moonlight.
