Catch the Wind is a compilation album from Scottish singer-songwriter Donovan. It was released in the United Kingdom (Hallmark Records HMA 200) in 1971 and did not chart. This 1971 release bears little resemblance to the 1965 version of What's Bin Did and What's Bin Hid released as Catch the Wind in the United States. In 1971, Hallmark Records gained the rights to Donovan's 1965 Pye Records recordings. Hallmark titled the first compilation Catch the Wind and released it in 1971

Catch the Wind is a compilation album from Scottish singer-songwriter Donovan. It was released in Australia on 28 November 2000 (Castle 61191). Although Castle Records had just released all of Donovan's 1965 Pye Records recordings as Summer Day Reflection Songs earlier in 2000, they issued a compilation of the best known songs titled Catch the Wind in Australia anyway. All tracks by Donovan Leitch, except where noted. Catch the Wind" – 2:56. To Try for the Sun" – 3:38.

Donovan Philips Leitch (born May 10, 1946 in Maryhill, Glasgow), better known as simply Donovan, is a Scottish singer, songwriter, and musician. Originally a '60s folk singer, as the decade progressed Donovan cultivated his own unique eclectic sound, mixing elements of folk, pop, jazz, world music and more, often with a twinge of psychedelia. His most well-known work was suffused with altruistic political overtones, making him an iconic figure of the "flower power" counter-culture of the '60s.
Some of his famous bejeweled sensibility is already apparent in these tracks, but for the most part this is Donovan as a straight folksinger, and he isn't bad at it at all. His work from this period has been compared (usually unfavorably) to Bob Dylan, but the strongest influence at play in these songs is probably Bert Jansch, whose "Do You Hear Me Now" is covered here. In the end, the Pye tracks form a complete and distinct cycle in Donovan's legacy, separate from - but not necessarily lesser than - his more ornate pop material
Ah, but I may as well try and catch the wind. And everywhere I'd look, your eyes I'd find. For me to love you now. Would be the sweetest thing. That would make me sing. Ah, but I may as well, try and catch the wind. When rain has hung the leaves with tears. I want you near, to kill my fears. To help me to leave all my blues behind. For standin' in your heart. Is where I want to be, and I long to be.
