OMG TKO what massive jungle track. Love the break, vocals and ragga. Killer dance floor tracks.
Proper darkside and rudeboy jungle! I nearly bolted my muck when I heard this! Got my copy locked away next to da matrix let me know and the groove devious d. Back of the box business ????????????????????????
Killer release buy on sight......
Finally got the vinyl release in my hands now - massive thanks to Alan aka DJ Exodus himself for this and to Pete for pressing up unto this great quality limited green vinyl. I have been privileged to have the both featured DJ Exodus tracks on dub plate for a while and they have both gotten good reactions - especially ''Savour The Flavour''. All 4 tracks are very solid and well produced. I do believe a couple of these were intended to come out on Tearin Vinyl back in the day but didn't for whatever reason (but don't quote me on that). They were certainly more than good enough! An essential purchase if you are a fan of heavy chopped amen ragga infused 94-95 Jungle. The fact that it is a 4 tracker makes it fantastic for money.
Oh god man savor the flavor what a tune, tune is an absolute beast, rude boy dem? pfff shit has nothing on itReally good ep though, despite not liking the tune dread killer, i mean it's alright but it's no where near the level of the other tunes, it's actually nice to have an ep with a bit of variation on itSo top shouts to the guys that made it happen, hopefully the shape of things to come
Sermak Light
Funny you mention the sample, for me it's what kills the tune for me, without it you got decent dark roller, with it i dunno it sounds out of place it dont fit in with the other samples used, it sounds like it's confused between being a 95 tune and a 93 tune. id like to know when it was done
Awwww no love for Dread Killer? How can you not love the Anthony Hopkins sample from Coppola's Dracula? That's the fave for me off the EP. So dark and moody, fits more into the darker 93 era but I love it. Savor the Flavor & I Wanna (Sound Clash) are good as well. TKO- ehhhh not something I'd play.
Wicked release with a nice mix of flavours. Some moody vibes, Ragga and even a bit of Rare Groove too, perfect! Dread Killer originally came out on this compilation back in the day, the rest of the tracks are exclusive to this release. http://www.discogs.com/Various-Jungle-Rhythms-Volume-2/master/89145Big up 7th Storey Projects and 8205 Recordings for making this happen, if this release is a success hopefully we'll see some more treats from the Jungle vaults making an appearance. There's a lot of material out there that never saw a release beyond dub plate or test press.
Yes, finally it's pressed! One side two heavy-dark jungle storms & other side two massive ragga-monster tracks. Big respect Simon, Pete, DJ Exodus & Head Pressure and all who participated. Don't sleep, buy it !
