Periphery is the debut studio album by American progressive metal band Periphery, signed by Sumerian Records and released on April 20, 2010. Many songs on the tracklist had been written long before the release date-with some written by original lead vocalist Casey Sabol-but due to membership changes, the album was postponed on several occasions. Former vocalist Chris Barretto had nearly finished recording the album before he and the band parted ways months before its release

Periphery’s self-titled debut is a metal masterpiece and will always be remembered by all, no matter how long this band lasts. The amount of progression and genre-defying acts that Periphery does in this record is inconceivable and can only be believed if you listen to it. I would give this album a perfect score and I have exceptionally high expectations for their next record, because it’s hard to believe that it can get any better than this.

Periphery return with the 6th studio album oddly titled Periphery IV: Hail Stan. One of the leading bands in the Djent movement, Periphery have continually shown growth and maturity with each album and their latest is the culmination of what this band has been aiming towards. The aggressive nature is still very much intact, but this time with more diversity, more melody, and just fantastic songwriting. If you have not given this band a chance before, this is the album to do so. Look no further than the stunning opener Reptile, perhaps the best song the band has done to date.

Periphery IV: HAIL STAN ft. ‘Blood Eagle’ is out now on 3DOT Recordings  . The process of innovation doesn’t sit still or sleep. Instead, it relies on constant motion.

Periphery is the debut studio album by American progressive metal band Periphery, signed by Sumerian Records and released on April 20, 2010. Many songs on the track list had been written long before the release date but due to vocalist complications the debut album had been postponed on several occasions. Former vocalist Chris Barretto had nearly finished recording the album before he and the band parted ways months before its release.

Periphery III would have been the first album to show troubling signs of stagnation except for one thing: the album’s closer Lune was the first song that the band had ever written as a completely collaborative effort. As such, Lune was the most organic-sounding song the band had ever made and seems to have been a watershed moment in Periphery’s history.

Periphery, one of the frontrunners on the modern progressive metal scene, return this April 5th with the release of their new album titled Periphery IV: Hail Stan, released on 3DOT Recordings - a label that was founded by the members of the band. Before, Periphery were on Sumerian Records since their 2010 debut album. The band has launched two singles from the new album so far Blood Eagle and Garden in the Bones, both of them being at different sides of the specter, what certainly tells how much stylistically diverse Hail Stan is.

Variant photo clearly shows this is translucent. Was it marketed as red opaque? Also this variant was amazon exclusive, not sold through the bands webstore.
