John William "Paul" Weller Jr (born 25 May 1958) is an English singer-songwriter and musician. Weller achieved fame with the punk rock/new wave/mod revival band The Jam. He had further success with the blue-eyed soul music of The Style Council (1983–1989), before establishing himself as a solo artist in 1991.
Paul Weller is Paul Weller's first solo album, released in 1992. After disbanding The Style Council and leaving label Polydor in 1989, Weller formed The Paul Weller Movement in 1990, releasing a single, "Into Tomorrow", on his own Freedom High record label, in October 1991. Its success - reaching in the UK chart - led to Weller being offered a new record deal with Go! Discs, and the resulting album was released on 1 September 1992, reaching on the UK album chart.
Paul Weller (born 25 May 1958) is an English singer, songwriter, leader of two successful bands: The Jam and The Style Council. In England, he is recognised as something of a national institution yet, because much of his songwriting is rooted in English culture, he has remained essentially a national rather than an international star. Weller's eleventh studio album, Sonik Kicks, was released on 19 March 2012.

The album is a clean break for Paul Weller, formerly of The Jam (1972–1982), and later of The Style Council (1983-1989), now competing directly,, and becoming England's answer to Lenny Kravitz, down to the Italian boots, later an inspiration for Mike Meyer's portrayal of Austin Powers, to great worldwide acceptance and success
Paul Weller - You Do Something To Me. The third single from the acclaimed Stanley Road album, this is one of Weller’s most emotional, powerful and honest ballads. It has a touch of the 60s British psych rock band Traffic, as Weller’s voice recalls the gruff sound of singer Steve Winwood (who also appeared on the LP). Paul Weller - The Changingman. Paul Weller - From The Floorboards Up. A brief - less than two and a half minutes - slice of gritty R&B was taken from Weller’s 2005 album As Is Now. The Jam - English Rose. The trio were best known for their punk-influenced power pop, so it was rare to hear The Jam go acoustic.
As a solo artist, Weller returned to soul music as an inspiration, cutting it with the progressive, hippie tendencies of Traffic. Weller’s solo records were more organic and rootsy than the Style Council, which helped him regain his popularity within Britain. He launched his solo career in 1992 and by the mid 1990s, he had released three successful albums which were both critically acclaimed and massively popular in England. Then contemporary bands like Ocean Colour Scene were citing him as an influence
