Punk rock started in 1976 on New York’s Bowery, when four cretins from Queens came up with a mutant strain of blitzkrieg bubblegum. The revolution they inspired split the history of rock & roll in half. But even if punk rock began as a kind of negation - a call to stark, brutal simplicity - its musical variety and transforming emotional power was immediate and remains staggering. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Ramones’ toweringly influential self-titled debut, we’ve compiled a list of the 40 Greatest Punk Albums of All Time. Their first album explored obsessions like robotics, Ronald McDonald and cannibalistic apes, making devolution feel like the future.

Punk Rock Confidential is the sixth full-length album by pop punk band The Queers and their first album released on Hopeless Records. After the 1996 album Don't Back Down, The Queers went through changes, including founding member Joe King getting clean from drugs and alcohol, drummer Hugh O'Neill leaving due to health issues and bassist B-Face moving over to the Groovie Ghoulies. The lineup change also caused their longtime label Lookout! Records to drop them.

They've been trafficking in Black Flag and Blondie-indebted dive bar rawk for well over a decade, and on that note, the new album turns a major corner. On 2016's Welcome the Worms, Bleached battled through drinking, drugs and abusive relationships with ferocious, open-road riffage; today they rock out when necessary, but with space for rubbery disco bass lines, whistles, cowbell, and arty minimalism. From starting in the punk world during the Mika Miko days, it sounds like you’re learning where it makes sense to take Bleached today. Some post-punk I never realized was pretty. Some has really cool, dance-y guitars. It’s not this crazy, heavy punk. You worked with a handful of collaborators and co-writers on your new album. Who are some you want to highlight? Jennifer: Shitty Ballet we wrote with this girl Madi, and it was really cool.

When I was doing Punk in Drublic in Europe, after every show I went to my computer and worked for three or four hours. Every city is different. It’s not like, Okay, I got the bands for the tour. The thing I didn’t expect, some of the bands are getting kind of bummed. Even though they’re getting paid more than they ever would in the . they don’t like the fact that I’m making a lot of money. I mean, they’re better than AC/DC. If you take the 10 best Bad Religion songs, and put them against our 10 best songs, especially live, they kill us 10 for 10. But who would you rather spend an evening with, NOFX or Bad Religion? No question there This Week's Flyers.

Therefore, it's likely that anyone who reads this list will be outraged by some glaring omission - some of you might even pogo right over to our offices and deliver us a fresh knuckle sandwich. If we're lucky, however, most of you will just be content to enjoy the dazzling writing of those who contributed, and maybe learn about a few choice records that you've never heard of. Never mind the bullocks, here's the list

Fearless Records’ ‘Punk Goe. has outlived its sometimes controversial novelty status by proving music can take root wherever you plant i. Being old enough to vote, Punk Goe. as outlived its sometimes controversial novelty status by proving time and time again that music can take root wherever you plant it, whether the genre is reconstructing iconic songs from today’s FM dial, classic rock, Southern hip-hop, vintage metal or Warped Tour. Then I decided I needed to change it up, not keep doing the same thing. I forget how the idea of the pop one came up, but it made sense. At first I thought, Fans don’t want to hear pop songs. But somehow we got bands to do it. Whether it’s pop or classic rock, a lot of people will say, I don’t listen to that stuff. But if you press them, they’ll say, Well, I listen to the good songs.
