Four Days in Florence As I said above, Florence is crowded year-round. In the summer months, you have the predictable groups of tourists following flag-wielding tour guides through the highlights of one of the most art-rich cities on earth. The lines for the Uffizi Gallery are unspeakably long, and you may have to wait your turn to get a "front row" spot on the edge of the Ponte Vecchio for an unobstructed view of the Arno River. So, outside the peak tourism season, the city slows down, right? Not so much  . Four Days in Florence. As I said above, Florence is crowded year-round.

Four Days in October is a baseball documentary produced by ESPN and MLB Productions. It is episode 24 in the first season of the ESPN 30 for 30 series. It chronicles the last four games of the 2004 American League Championship Series (ALCS) between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees.

Chrissie Manby, CreatorChrissie Manby. When a mini-break becomes make or brea. athy Courage has never visited the famous Italian city of Florence before, so she’s thrilled when she and her boyfriend Neil are invited there for a wedding. Unfortunately, with Neil’s constant complaining and his teenage children in tow, it’s not exactly the romantic break Kathy was hoping for. But when a mix-up with her flights leaves Kathy stranded in the city, she decides to embrace the unexpected and stay on alone

The very first thing you should do in Florence when there is enough light to see by is to go to San Miniato al Monte - a wonderful 12th century church on the hillside south of the city. You get one of the really great views of the city to orient yourself, and the church provides a superb introduction to Florentine architecture, scupture, and gravitas. And much as I love Siena, just as I love Arezzo, and Volterra, and Chiusi and umpty ump other places, if I had only four days to spend in Florence - I would spend them all in Florence.
