Mike Wofford at Maybeck: Maybeck Recital Hall Series Volume Eighteen is an album of solo performances by jazz pianist Mike Wofford. The album was recorded at the Maybeck Recital Hall in Berkeley, California in September 1991. Wofford's choice of material leans a bit off the trail of the usual standards now and then, with an emphasis on jazz tunes like Ray Bryant's 'Tonk' and 'Topsy', as well as the dignified 'Impresiones Intimas No. 1' by Spanish classical composer Federico Mompou.

Another perennial accompanist, Mike Wofford, has the spotlight all to himself in Vol. 18 of Concord's Maybeck Recital Series.

On the album, Mike Wofford plays a tack piano to evoke an African sound, and Manne is joined by percussionists Emil Richards, Larry Bunker, Frank Carlson, and Victor Feldman. According to the record liner notes, Manne and fellow percussionists play ankle and wrist jingles, Thai mouth organs, angklungs, ocarinas, vibraphones, tympani, and different kinds of marimbas. MIKE WOFFORD is a hard bop music artist. He has received critical acclaim for his Live at Maybeck volume 18 in the Concord Records solo piano series, and his 2004 CD Live at Athenaeum Jazz on Capri Records features bassist Peter Washington and drummer Victor Lewis. In 2007, Capri released Live at Athenaeum Jazz, Vol. 2, a duo CD with flutist Holly Hofmann. A native Texan, Wofford was raised in San Diego, California, where he resides currently.

Mike Wofford (born February 28, 1938 in San Antonio, Texas), is a jazz pianist who was raised in San Diego, California. He is best known as an accompanist to and music director for singers Sarah Vaughan (in the 1970s), Ella Fitzgerald (1989–1992). He was known in the jazz community going back to the 1960s for the albums Strawberry Wine and Summer Night.
