The official soundtrack was released in early 2016, but the final episode was released in October, 2015. The cover of the soundtrack symbolizes the pirate CD that young Chloe gave young Max in the game. Life Is Strange Soundtrack Q&A. Soundtrack Life Is Strange.

Shop Vinyl and CDs and complete your collection. The packaging is great and I can't find any problem with the sound quality, it's clean.

Especially some of the other songs by Jonathon Moralli like Golden Hour and Max & Chloe. I highly recommend this playlist for studying or soothing tunes.

Koda, Lanterns On The Lake and others.

The soundtrack for Life is Strange: Before the Storm consists of licensed tracks and an original score composed by the English indie band Daughter. The original score for the bonus episode "Farewell" was composed by Mike Reagan.

My favourite record. The packaging is great and I can't find any problem with the sound quality, it's clean. The fact it's a promo only record explains why this is so rare and expensive, but it sucks because more people deserve to listen to this on vinyl.
Every track is a gem... beautiful album... with endless replay-ability.
A beautiful soundtrack that is, in my opinion, a masterpiece. It stinks it is so rare though. Pick it up if you ever get the chance in your life. Absolutely amazing and worth every cent.
Beautiful soundtrack and great pressing, so sad copyrights (and obviously money issues) had to ruin a decent official release for everyone . If only SquareEnix cared a little bit more of their soundtracks, their records wouldn't be so hard to get. At least it exists I guess ...
looking to pay for this vinyl. [email protected] if any seller is interested!!
For all those interested: Square-Enix just announced the LiS:Before the Storm 4xLP vinyl edition. It's available on their website with a preorder bonus and other bundle options. It's probably worth it to get it now while it's available at their site and select retailers for preorder. I'm not a soothsayer, but if this soundtrack is any indication, the next one will likely blow up in price, too. Just thought I'd drop this here to help as many people as possible. Peace.
This one will not blow up because there's no licensing issues causing a crazy limited promo release with a weird selling model, but thank you.
I've learned that it's probably a good idea to buy any and all vinyl SE releases on their store. Wish I had known about the FF13 one a couple years back...
Wowser! This album is hella expensive. I hope they do a re-press.
Captain America
Calling José Gonzalez and alt-J "small indie bands" is quite weird....
The problem is all the licensed music... it's nearly impossible with such small indie bands to get them to give up their rights because they have a hard enough time selling their own albums... you see this with the Empire Records soundtrack, where only like 10% of the music is on the soundtrack, Stigmata, with no licensed music, Club Dread, etc... This album does come up for around $145 on Ebay from time to time, and I think that's your best bet right now.
If you have 600 member points you can buy it in the Square Enix Online Store... but to get 600 points would cost like $1500... so you're better off just paying $200 for the record on Ebay.
Holy hell, I need to get this somehow. Must have.
I would kill for having this. Life Is Strange is such a beautiful, touching game.
Hi guys. I have a copy of Life Is Strange soundtrack for sale which I bought from a reputable auction house near wear I live in Manchester UK.I am not into this genre of music or the gaming side so it is for sale. I would accept no less than £200 sterling plus postage costs. I can send you plenty of pictures and put my ID next to it so you know it me and real.Let me know only if you are a serious buyer. All the best.
Totally feeling what you wrote and it leaves such a sense of emptiness once you've beaten the game... It only happens when something deeply touches your soul. I had a very similar feeling with Final Fantasy X (which also has a fantastic soundtrack). Thanks a lot for the recommendation over the King book, I will surely read this. Life Is Strange has so many nice references that you can dive into... I don't know if you're into Blade Runner, but even Vangelis and his soundtrack get mentioned into the diary!
Yeah, I bought it for 15€ on the PS Store (and also includes the expansion) so wait for a sale ;)
You should play The Talos Principle, many questions that you made are extensively investigated in that beautiful game. And gameplay-wise if you played Portal, you know the deal.Going back to Life Is Strange, I think, as many also wrote on the internet, that Max gains the power, even if Chloe ultimately dies, to spend a last week with her, to have a chance to fully love a person until she has to go away. It's a unique chance for her and everyone would love to have one last week with a person that we lost. It's a lesson for us to not waste time with all the subsequent carpe diem stuff that we all know. Then, another things pop up in the game... even if you can rewind time, can you really make things better? Are we sure that some things can be really changed? We do not have an answer to these questions and we never will but that's also why we do love Life Is Strange so much. However from my perspective the death of Chloe is the real ending, everything makes more sense and the messages that the game wants to send are fully recognizable but to each his own!
I saved Chloe too (I did not even think about it) but the other ending is much more stronger and feels to be the real ending. Everything makes a full circle and gets a stronger meaning if you save Arcadia Bay.
Any confirmation how many copies were released? Think they will do another round?
VICE said 500, but that seems too high for a promo (especially considering so few are for sale). I've seen some press people saying 100 which seems more likely. No official confirmation, though. Doubt we'll get any.EDIT: And to add to your second question - most likely not. I've been in touch with Square and it was apparently difficult doing a promo run in the first place (due to licensing). They wouldn't rule out the possibility of a standalone release of Jonathan Morali's score, though, but nothing's currently planned (as of ~1½ month ago).
I would love to buy the vinyl but $2,160.45 is way too high of a price to buy
There is some possibility to win the vinyl at some websites. Hope someone is selling soon.
Looking to buy the vinyl edition if anyone is selling!
grand star
Said to be a pressing of 500 copies, which is a pretty big number for a promo pressing.EDIT: Have heard later talks of it being 100 copies and not 500. This does seem more realistic.
Vice said 500 copies were made in total. That's the first concrete number I could find: https://www.vice.com/en_uk/article/vd8xg4/win-a-record-player-and-super-rare-copy-of-the-life-is-strange-soundtrack-on-vinyl-565
There's like 14 for sale on Ebay right now, and 15+ have sold on Ebay... so I'm thinking maybe 200 copies exist.
Can not believe that. There would be more up here. Guess, it is really only a small amount pressed.
touche112 - There's a competition on Vice UK where it's mentioned: https://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/win-a-record-player-and-super-rare-copy-of-the-life-is-strange-soundtrack-on-vinyl-565It's supposedly being discussed on Vinyl Collective as well, but for some reason my IP is banned so I can't visit the site and confirm that for sure.
FLauridsen Said to be a pressing of 500 copies, which is a pretty big number for a promo pressing. Where did you get this information? Square Enix is silent on this, to my knowledge.
