The Lydian String Quartet performs the First SQ with a gentle, luminous tone. The final movement is especially convincing, with a stirring finale. The overall impression is one of delicacy-at least compared with other recordings. The Lydians have an almost nostalgic quality. As mentioned above, the Concord String Quartet brings a more vital, joyful approach to the work, and ultimately I find their recording to be more convincing. Nonetheless, the Lydian Quartet's reading of the First SQ is very fine, if a bit different  . Other recordings of Ives' string quartets include: Mondriaan String Quartet (EtCetera KTC 1169, includes the String Quartet No. 2 and other chamber works).

Charles Ives’ String Quartet N. was composed in 1896 when he was a 21 years and a sophomore student at Yale University. The piece composed for standard string quartet which consists of two violins, viola, and cello. The sequence of movement of this piece seems like typical setting but it actually has very interesting setting. For the standard setting of string quartets are 4 movements. However, the sequence of movements of this string Quartet is not matching with this traditional sequence. The first movement is in C Major and the tempo is Andante con moto which is different from the typical setting. This piece starts with the slow movemen. elated Documents. Essay about String Theory.

The Blair String Quartet has performed widely on National Public Radio and was featured for a number of years on a public television series called Recital Hall.
