It’s a bit rough around the edges, but Slim Thug’s third effort is solid overall, rolling over the listener with the same stone-cold Texas rhymes and heavy Houston beats that ruled his first two releases. With his writing ramped up just a little bit, lack of growth may be an issue for his detractors, but fans will find that being stuck in this comfort zone is right where they want to be, too - plus it’s not like you’d ask Thug or his like-minded guests Z-Ro or Devin the Dude to travel down any new. avenues in a Cee-Lo Green style.

from the story Thug 'n Preppy by pearlyoung (Pearl) with 504 reads. you know NOT worth arguing about. I feel like he's purposely trying to find a dumb reason to let go of my mom.

For a couple of weeks in 1987 this was the ultimate in power and noise. Deranged, repetitively looped single with nasty lyrics. I used to play this one on a radio show I presented waaay back. Someone pointed out the harsh lyrics which I had completely failed to notice ("fuck your Dad" over and over). It was a BBC station too. Nobody important noticed as the sound is so distorted and crude. I did get sacked from another radio station later in the '90s (twice!! in fact) but that's another story.A friend of mine bought this back from Australia for me in '87. He gave me the Mechanical Ape and Waste Sausage albums too. To get 'em he had to spend an afternoon with Tex Perkins.... which he said was 'challenging' or perhaps 'testing', or maybe it was just incredibly weird and awkward - I can't remember.
Thug 'Dad' was still playing on a Sydney pub jukebox in '88, couldn't believe it! I got all of those Redeye LP releases, and Blackeye too. I was hanging out in Sydney with the Lub Goat guys a bit at that time. Sure was some crazy times!
