William "Smokey" Robinson Jr. (born February 19, 1940) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and former record executive. Robinson was the founder and frontman of the Motown vocal group the Miracles, for which he was also chief songwriter and producer. Robinson led the group from its 1955 origins as "the Five Chimes" until 1972 when he announced a retirement from the group to focus on his role as Motown's vice president.

Lloyd Robinson is a Reggae singer that recorded a number of songs for Studio One, one of Jamaica's most renowned record labels and recording studios sometimes described as "the Motown of Jamaica", starting in 1963.

Around 1978 Lloyd Robinson recut the song for Coxsone Dodd at Studio One, which was followed by recuts for Henry Junjo Lawes’ Volcano label in 1982 and Sly & Robbie’s Taxi Records in the early 1990s. The now released Candi Girl album also features a worthy recut of Cuss Cuss, just like the other tracks (including a few other recuts), recorded at Channel One in 1982 for fledgling producer Roy Sweetland, who since the mid-1970s had covered the reggae scene as a photographer. The album opens with a real fine recut of That Girl, originally a rocksteady song done together with Glen Brown in 1967 for producer/singer Derrick Harriott. The same theme comes to the fore in the matching Want No War.
