Only the Supremes' "Come See About Me," the Four Tops' "Baby I Need Your Loving," and to a lesser extent Marvin Gaye's "Can I Get a Witness" truly classify as early classics. The rest - tunes by Edwin Starr, the Isley Brothers, the Jackson Five, the Miracles, and Jimmy Ruffin - are seminal Motown tracks, but are they really early classics? Get past the grandiose title and you have a good disc for cruising.
